Some of Rasmus' talks run through creating your own extension one step at a time... If that wasn't what he did at TLUG, check here: http://conf.php.net There used to be a apidoc.txt file or somesuch in the distro that 'splained how to add C functions to PHP. May or may not still be there, may or may not be out of date. YMMV. You could always post specific questions here.
