Whoever compiled that particular RPM of PHP thought you needed libXpm
(whatever that might be) to make it useful.
Since there are about 25 different compilation options, and the number of
combinations is then about 225*24*23*22*21*..., which is a *really* huge
number, the odds on an RPM being what you really want are pretty slim.
You can edit the RPM generation file, if you know what you're doing, but
at that point you might as well compile from source, since it's easier.
