Not sure if my earlier post made it...
After fooling around with php.ini (php4pl2, OSX, apache 1.3.12, running as
apache module), mail() doesn't work. The settings I've put into the .ini file
are showing up in phpinfo(): the pertinent ones (I assume) are here:
sendmail_from someone@somewhere.com
sendmail_path /usr/local/sbin/sendmail -t
A basic page with this in it:
$toName = "omnivore@sympatico.ca";
$message = "hello";
$subject = "jello";
$fromName = "someone@somewhere.com";
$x = mail($toName." ", $subject, $message, "From: ".$fromName."
\nReturn-Path:
");
print "hello $x";
will return "hello 1" to the browser but no mail arrives, and I assume this
means none gets sent. Meantime, I can send mail via other utilities on the
server via sendmail no problem. Sendmail is indeed at the designated location...
What am I doing wrong?
