Well, don't trust everything you read :-)
These lines:
$httpd = exec("ps -e | grep -c httpd");
$mysqld = exec("ps -e | grep -c mysqld");
fill $httpd and $mysqld with the current number of daemons running. Works
fine on my Slackware box with PHP 4.0.6.
