I believe this was a bug in all versions prior to 4.0.6, globals and $HTTP_SESSION_VARS did *not* reference the same value while on the current page, in spite of what the manual says. So, either upgrade to 4.0.6, or use the global version of session variables rather than the $HTTP_SESSION_VARS array. Kirk
