header() not working.

anyone know why the header() wouldn't work? I don't have anything being printed out
before or after I call the header(). The only thing that does happen is when it tries to redirect
the user it sends them to a 404 page error. Also, when I check the web server log it says it's
trying to call ".php" (note no file name in front of the '.php'). I'm not
sure what's going on but any suggestions?
