My guess is that you did not compile FTP support into PHP when you compiled it. You need to use the --enable-ftp flag when compiling PHP because the functions you are trying to use are not enabled by default. You are not getting the error when using @ftp_connect because the @ sign suppresses error messages. --Sam On Thu, Jul 13th 2000 09:38:36 Emilio Escobar <eescobar@isla.net> wrote: >Any reason why I get this: > Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function ftp_connect() in >/www/htdocs/phpftp/upload.php3 on line 4 > >It will not happen if I use @ftp_connect, but > $fp = @ftp_connect('hostname'); > if (!$fp) { > echo "Connection refused"; > } else { > echo "Connection established"; > } >doens't work, it just loads a blank page.. >Any ideas? > >/** > * Emilio Escobar > * skill@skill.org > * - Great spirits have always encountered > * strong oppositions from mediocre minds. - >*/ > > >-- >PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) >To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-general-unsubscribe@lists.php.net >For additional commands, e-mail: php-general-help@lists.php.net >To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net > >
