it usually means the apache httpd wasn't found in /usr/bin
Some distributions throw things in wierd places
do a 'locate httpd' (quicker) or 'find \ -name httpd' (longer)
to find out where its situated
then configure paths accordingly.
Remember if you are going to use dso's apache must be compiled to use them
that way.
