newbie to html & PHP

Hi all, I am a newbie. Just started learning PHP on SuSE Liux 6.3 with Mysql as the database backend. I have only got just a basic html knowledge. To design the forms is it advisable to learn html or use some HTML editor ( no HTML coding ) and concentrate only on PHP. Should I learn HTML first and than go for PHP or do as above ?
