Hi,
it seems as if you are actually right, but what strikes me is that it worked
different in PHP3.
And at least I found it much more practical for debugging the way it was
implemented in PHP3.
BTW: I could not see this note in the documentation and not on the list of
incompatibilities.

require() is different from include(). If you require()
a file, that file is now the current file and the line numbers
don't start from 0. Read the documentation about require().
