A) It is better for google to find your site via a link (or thousands) to
your site.
B) You want to get into DMOZ.Com. It feeds almost every "search engine".
C) Don't pay someone to target your site unless they're in the top 10 at
Google for your theme.
D) If you are going to pay for Search Engine submission, do it at inktomi.
E) Focus on the directories, providing real/contextual content, and
establishing a theme.
F) After google, target AllTheWeb.Com and Fast.
G) Some Search Engines will "bonk" you for using mass-submission tools. Do
it all by hand.

Z) Pray :)
Everything in the search engine game is trial and error. Spend time reading
search engine forums and web developer articles. Find out what other people
are doing and how successful they are. The engines obviously don't publish
their algorithms but if you are observant enough you might grasp about 30%
of it.

Hi All,
this may be a bit off topic, but i need/advise on
where and how i can register a site in the top search
engines. I know there are all these sites where you
can do it but do you have recommendations?
My other question is, why do we have to pay for this,
or what does paying provide from those where you don't
have to pay do?
I thought there were robots that go around linking
from page to page and indexing the webpages..so that
when a search is run the pages relevant are found, so
what does paying do?
thanks!
Heidi
