opendir problem

Has the directory handling changed anything between 4.0.0 and 4.0.1-dev?
I upgraded yesterday and that broke some of my scripts that uses the
opendir() function. If I execute a script in /webroot/mysite/ dir and that
script does opendir('./html'), this should then open /webroot/mysite/html
but with 4.0.1-dev it tries to open /html.
any idea, anyone?
