Hi, I heard about JSP a lot recently though I doing PHP programing now. somebody said jsp is most fastest in (asp , php , jsp). I want to know if it is true . And if I use PHP + php cache , can I speed up PHP as same as JSP as they said. I just want to know which is the best solution ,(php + php cache) or jsp .I keep losing the original, and zdnet seems to not want to point to it (tho I did find it once). http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:OinLyb7rnDM:groups.yahoo.com/group/ASP-Developers/message/1816+zdnet+eweek+php+shootout&hl=en That's a cached copy at google via Yahoo! groups. ZDNet did a 'shootout' last October PHP/ASP/CF/JSP. Benchmarked a shopping cart app, similar functionality on each platform using same hardware/database (well similar - read the article). PHP was THE fastest - 47 pages/second. JSP was 13. The Tomcat engine they used has improved a lot - brief testing we've done locally suggests substantial improvement. Will you see 300% improvement? I dunno. I'm sure differing JVMs would have helped, but it was meant as a comparison of 'average' use/development on each platform. I'm sure the PHP could have been optimized to get more performance as well). Others have pointed out too though that it matters more what you're trying to do - database will most likely be an issue regardless of what platform, etc. Just don't let people hornswaggle you into "JSP is the fastest of anything". Quite the opposite from what I've seen in many situations.
