I use xml with php on my site. It's a bit raw and not really how I'd like it, but until I can find a good xsl solution it works. PHP offers functions to parse an xml file and stick the data it finds into an array, arranged how you like. So using that I created my own, basic xslt processor. Adding data to an xml file is really easy, it's just a text file. You can create scripts that write to xml files the same way you'd write to any file really.
