What I think is that is better to stick to the resolution. 1x1 - that's
it. I adding line-heights than you have to look for the fact that at
least two lines have the same color, multiply the line-height by lines
number and change "color=" to CSS background-color and line-height. That
is what I had in mind.

Playing with line-height helps in compressing the image height-wise,
which kinds works. I'm using a font-size of 8px, with a line-height of
4px:

It still looks slightly different between NS and IE, and NS also
seems to render a tad faster than IE, but hey... The whole idea was to
just mess around with this, eh? :)
