Finding the refering domain instead of the refering page

Is it possible to find the refering DOMAIN instead of the refering PAGE? I know that I could use $HTTP_REFERER but that gives the full adress, and I don¹t want that. Instead of showing: http://www.domain.com/directory/file.html I just want the: http://www.domain.com/ Part. Thanks in advance. django
