post more code, I bet you have either
$sqlquery = 'INSERT INTO mytable ("$q1", "$q2",
"2001-10-09")';
or something strange like
$sqlquery = "INSERT INTO mytable ('". $$q1 ."', '". $$q2
."',
'2001-10-09')";
post more code and we can see for sure.
