Well, when you have something *big* it's hard to make it both fast and
maintainable in PHP. For those things going partially (i.e. for "backend"
stuff) with Java/C++ is good.
But for most things PHP should be preferable.
No comment about ASP, JSP here.
And CGI is an interface standard, not a language :)
