I had this and Apache.com won't admit it but it's kind of a bug (the
PHP.net guys helped me out on it).
you can't have a directory called php if you have a ScriptAlias called
php aswell. Rename the subdir to something that isn't the same as a
ScriptAlias and I reckon all will be well :-)

configured php4.06 to work on apache1.3 running on windows98.
created asub folder named php in the htdocs folder of apache.
1)created test.php with the code

<?php phpinfo();?>
</html>
when i give the following URL in internetexplorer5.0
http://localhost/php/test.php
it is giving following error:

2)Then copied index.html from htdocs folder of apache and
given the following URL in the browser
http://localhost/php/
then the following error is displayed

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /php/ on this server.
------------------------------------------------------
3)running php.exe from the php home dirctory is displaying
screenfull of html code
please let me know what is wrong.
