I've tried this since, but can't get syntax right:

$myconnection = mysql_pconnect("localhost","","");
mysql_select_db("",$myconnection);
$rows = mysql_query("SHOW TABLE STATUS from MyTable LIKE Comment");
echo "$rows";
?>
