Hi Maria
PHP code is "triggered" and processed _before_ a page is sent to the client
(server-side scripting). So there's no way executing php code once the page is
already loaded in the browser. You have no choice using javascript (in any
flavour) to do your checking (client-side scripting). Perhaps there are tools
out there that will help you coding it (e.g. as Chris Boget worte: Jay
Bloodworth's FormClass).

hi,
is there a way with PHP to check fields in a form to make sure they aren't
blank before submitting the form? Can you call a function to execute when a
form is submitted like you can with JavaScript? Or are there event handlers
like OnClick or OnBlur? Or even, can you use JavaScript functions with PHP?
Thanks,
Maria
