phpinfo() - no session vars

In versions of php prior to 3.x, phpinfo() showed *all* variables. Since
3.x phpinfo() no longer gives session variables, at least by default, on
any of the platforms I have installed it. Is there a configuration
somewhere to regain the original behaviour? I have rtfm though perhaps
overlooked something.
