It really depends on what your end use for the XML is. If
you are extracting data (XML DOM nodes really) and want to do
complex stuff with it, then you will want to look at the DOM XML
functions especially the XPath functions (also lookup XPath search
syntax on the web). If you just want to extract arbitrary
data from the XML files to be displayed as HTML, I would
recommend using XSLT and learning the XSL syntax (which uses
XPath as well).
In the long run, you will find that there are alot of really
neat and useful XML-related tools out there that can do
tons with the same one XML file you got.
