It doesn't appear that the name attribute is passed (ref: http://www.blooberry.com/indexdot/html/tagpages/f/form.htm). Instead, try including the following in each of your forms:
<input type='hidden' name='formname' value='formName1'>
Then you can check $formname in file.php for the value.
