session expire problem?

I use a session system for authentication and from time to time (10-15
min) the users are kicked out. session.cookie_lifetime is set to 10800=3
hours. In tmp there seems that sess_.... are ok (ie are not deleted) but
from php I can't have session informations anymore. Is there any known
problem with IE (deleting cookies from time to time) or something like
that? I'm testing right now with Netscape to see if the problem apears
with it too.session.cookie_lifetime is set to 0.
