Thomas-
I'm not sure if this is possible in your situation, but I've done something similar in a slightly different fashion. Instead of using ErrorDocument to put you into your PHP script, try using mod_rewrite.
A good example on how to do this cane be found on PHPBuilder.com at
http://www.phpbuilder.com/columns/tim20000526.php3
Basically, you can use the Apache rewrite module to internally change:
www.fubar.com/1iuz28si2/path/file.php
To a request for:
www.fubar.com/private/control.php?SID=1iuz28si2&data=/path/file.php
Hope this helps,

Howdy folks, after studing this mail list in an archiv for several hours and not found any solution, I will ask you directly. We want to handle sessions with virtual directories like: www.fubar.com/1iuz28si2/path/file.php. The middle of the path should be a dynamic generated session handler and rest of it is not in a public readable directory. So far so good.... After the php script (ErrorDocument 404 error404.php) is started, there are no parameter fields like $HTTP_GET_VARS and $HTTP_POST_VARS. Ok, you can create your own array by using the $REQUEST_URI, but where are the parameters after a <form method="post"> was used? Any ideas are welcome :) best regards Thomas -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-general-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-general-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
