Depending on traffic... Possibilities include: (1) include a clean-up function in your script (in addition to the other session operations) that checks the expire time for all sessions and deletes all older that your default age time. (2) create a separate php script for only cleanup and run it regularly from a cron job (I use lynx for such things, as it makes it very easy to run php scripts at specific times.) David, It "sounds like" there's only one session record being saved in the database. You need to create a separate record for each session (each new user) and save the value of the cookie for that user/session as part of the database record.
I see that, but then how do I clean it up? I could have a thousand users through the "guest" account, that would mean a thousand entries. Since I can't force them to log out, then the entries just sit there. -- www.SpamWhack.com A pre-emptive strike against spam Where's dave? http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?kc6ete-9 My transistor sings with unintended parasitic the smoke escapes By Jeff Stout -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-general-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-general-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
