I'm not 100% sure, but I think there is a way to force a output buffer
flush. If it exists (and will force header output), then you can use that to
force the header redirection before the script is finished.
The alternative is to use frames and make a small frame that the posted data
shows up in (and use javascript to re-direct the user to another page in the
main form)

Subject: [PHP] redirection
Hi,
I have a form that calls a .php script on submission. Since this script
takes a fairly long time to execute, I'd like to redirect the user to
another page while the script executes in the background.
What would be the best way to achieve this?
Using
<?php
header ("Location: <location>");
.....script code ....
?>
is of no avail as the redirection does not take place till the script
completes execution or the browser page expires,whichever is earlier.
