I've seen this with MS SQL connections. What it boils down to is that the data type that is returned isn't understood, the extension dies, and nothing is returned. Try a simpler select statement (I know its hard to go much simpler but.... ;-) - go for "select 'hello world'". And then try giving the column a name - it could be that. "select 'hello world' as HiWorld" - (the "as" is optional, I can't remember whether interbase wants it or not). If you can work out what sql statements don't work, then mail the list back and I'll have a look at the extension.
