The following is an example (no error checking) of taking an array
and serializing it to disk, and subsequently reading it back again.
// Write out an array in serialized format
$filename = "array.ser";
$fp = fopen($filename, "w");
fputs($fp, serialize($some_array));
fclose($fp);
// Read the array back in
$fp = fopen($filename, "r");
$newarray = unserialize(fread($fp, 256000));
fclose($fp);
Note, in the example I've allowed the file to be 256K in size.
This is not elegant, but may or may not work in your circumstances.
