Hi, Even I came accross the same problem, so I tried to solve it using setuid or suexec with PHP, but I was not able to get with it, I was not able to fix setuid or suexec only, so what I did is, we wrote a C script that will add, modify or delete the unix password (/etc/passwd), then we set the 'C' file permission as [ -rwsr-sr-x 1 root root 19708 Oct 2 10:54 filename ]. Now it is working fine. So try with setuid or suexec, you find details in PHP manual, and if it does'nt work with PHP and if you work as to be done urgently then why don't you try writing a 'C' script. Goodluck....! My request to those who read this ---------------------------------- If any one there have done something like this using setuid or suexec with php or by some other way in PHP, please let me know cos I want to convert 'C' script to PHP. cheers kishor, Nilgiri Networks.
