hello, i used asp and it seems there is an application object which can help in caching of data. (e.g., http://www.aspfaqs.com/aspfaqs/ShowFAQ.asp?FAQID=142). is this possible using php? what can i do to use caching on my website which is totally database driven? thanks/erickBe aware that use of the application object in ASP has it's own drawbacks, so simply trying to copy their behaviour can cause problems. Additionally, misuse/abuse of caching can have a detrimental effect on performance as well. Before investigating caching, make sure that your queries and indexes are optimized. Once that's done, yes, the PEAR cache system is a good place to start. :) Michael Kimsal http://www.tapinternet.com/php PHP Training Courses 734-480-9961
