Surely "open systems" means 'open' - in the support community as well as other
aspects!?
Echoing/amplifying Torben's comment earlier: Private replies do not benefit others on the list
(presumably with
similar questions/learning need), nor do they end up in any archive.
It is annoying to reply to a question 'back up the list' only to be told that you have
wasted your time and
effort because someone else replied earlier (but you couldn't save yourself the trouble because
he/she/it didn't
CC the list).
