Short: I cannot get ldap_conect() to work.
Using PHP 4.0.0
openldap-1.2.9-6 / openldap-devel-1.2.9-6 (redhat 6.1 rpms)
Unable to use ldap_connect() (or variations -- ldap_connect(host),
ldap_connect(host, port)).
Long:
I can write a simple C program that uses ldap_open() or ldap_init()
from openldap and all seems to work fine.
Using PHP's ldap, I get a null return from ldap_connect(). I added
some debugging to the ldap.c file and get an error of 2 after an
ldap_init() which basically means "No suck file or directory" (or so
strerror() says). If I change ldap_init() to ldap_open() I also get
an error.
I gett his problem in PHP3 and PHP4...
1) has anyone seen this before (I can't find it in any archives) ?
2) Thoughts on how to get this working?
