Under Red Hut 6.2,Oracle8i,Apache 1.3.12 &php3
1.Install oracle8i server with all the oracle
patches for oracle8iee;
2.Proceed to the instalation of php3 as an
apache module; configure php --with-oracle=ORACLE_HOME
and run make and make install
3. in $ORACLE_HOME/lib you'll find these
files: libgeneric.a and libgeneric.pre_81502. Delete
libgeneric.a and rename libgeneric.pre_81502 to
libgeneric.a; go in the $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory and
run genclntsh;
4. continue with the next step in the quick
installation manual (recte cd ../apache_1.3.x ;
./configure --prefix=/www
--activate-module=src/modules/php3/libphp3.a
observation: if the file libphp3.a already
exists in the specified location, delete it before
running configure.
