equivalent of qw?

Hi all,
I often find myself creating long arrays like so
$a = array(
a
b
c
d
e
f
r
foo
bar
etc
...
);
is there an easy way I don't know about to quote those vars? Basically just
looking for an easier way to make such an array without adding teh quotes
and commas, something like perl's qw.
