This is because the user that is running the webserver dose not have
read permission to access the directory in which the document root
of directmail is held.

The httpd.conf (assuming apache) needs to be configured to tell
the webserver what to do with files with an extension of .php

The file is called be name, which means the user that is running
the webserver has execute permissions on the directory in
which the document root of directmail is held.
It works find because the file extension is .html which dose not
have to be explicitly handled.
Hope this helps,
David.
