Linking within news script..

I'm writing/modifying a PHP news script, and I want it to be able to hyperlink to any URL's in the message body automatically.. what would be the best way to go about doing this? I've been scouring Zend, PHPBuilder, and this list for code snippets or examples, but I haven't found anything or am searching on the wrong terms perhaps.
