I'd also lay odds that something like MySQL (esp. if you can use a HEAP
table) would be significantly more scalable than the Session/Application
logic included in ASP (overuse of Session/Application has been on the ASP
performance don'ts list for awhile). It'd also provide a major reliability
gain if you need persistence (ever wonder where those Application variables
are stored & what would happen if the system crashes?).
