Special characters (åäö) are now showing up in the browser as junk (?ao) after moving to the
production environment (Postgres->Oracle, Xitami->Apache).
o the characters look fine in the DB using Oracle SQL *Plus
o digging through the archives I found the suggestion of storing them in the DB by their special
HTML code, such as "å", but I'd rather not since the DB is not limited to
web applications
o all documents have the following in the header:
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
o they are displayed fine if simply echoed in PHP
Any ideas?
med vänlig hälsning
/Dana
