Hello all,
Problem :
I have a page that show a record from a SQL database, (by way of the general
ODBC functions).
The problem was that some pages (records) crashed the server (CPU 100% and
not stopping). This happend for records that had a TEXT field with more that
4096 chars. (max used in a record = 5012 chars)
Fix :
In php.ini there is a setting for ODBC called "odbc.defaultlrl" with a
default value of 4096. After changing this to 32768, the problem was fixed.
But this fix only works until somebody creates a record with more than 32768
chars in it.
I think the PHP function that uses this setting needs to be fixed.
System :
Windows NT 4.0 (sp6a)
Apache 1.3.24
PHP 4.1.2
MS SQL Server
