I'm not sure if this would work with files, but for drop-down boxes I assign
their values to a hidden field, and after the submit I use JavaScript to
update it to the value in the hidden field. I hope this helps!

Hello all,
Is there any way to retain the value of the FILE form field? As far as I
know, it will get lost (the file will be uploaded) after every submit. Is
there absolutely no way to pre-select the same value that the user had
chosen before the submit?
Probably a shot in the dark, but doesn't hurt to ask.
Thanks,
Lauri
