high cpu load.

I have a P2 266mhz with 256M of ram. Running a older version of RedHat, I can't say what version because I really don't know. I have apache 1.3.12+php3+mod_ssl-2.6.2. Everything works good this way. I was able to compile apache-1.3.12+php4+mod_ssl-2.6.4. But when it's running several of the httpd process, between 1-5, will use all the cpu load, cosmetically it seems to be fine, but it bothers me.
