Hi,
Several people have responded to my request for a php howto author, so I
am posting more information about what I am wanting.
The PHP articles will be published in the PHP Dev Center on The O'Reilly
Network.
http://www.oreillynet.com/php
I have a few ideas for the DevCenter, but I am open for other ideas.
Here is what I was thinking:
A Basic Intro Column written either weekly or bi-weekly, taking people
through the basics of getting a web page written in PHP. Assumes that
php is already installed and someone else is maintaining it.
An advanced php Column, gets into the deeper programming techniques and
tricks. Would contain alot about how to connect to databases and
utilize them in programs. Written weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
A developer/sysadmin column. How to setup php, cool things you can do
with php on the server side. Commonly asked server setup questions,
keeping current with development releases and features.
Developer stuff. Programming modules for php, coding php, etc... Can be
written bi-weekly or monthly.
I am also looking for feature articles that would only be published
separately or in a small series of 3 or less. These could cover
anything related to php.
The average payment for articles is about $350 per article, with
articles ranging from 800 words to 1500 words.
