xcopy inside of exec()

Hi!
I'm traying tu use the xcopy commando from win 2000 under php4, to move folders:
<?
//like this:
exec('cmd /c xcopy c:\source c:\target');
?>
But it does not work ... also passthru() does not give any (expected) answer?
Where i'm wrong?
