The vm interrupt is checked at the loop header of function JIT. If it is set, execution continues in
VM.
Variables kept in registers in function JIT are not written back to the VM call frame, so the VM
(and eventually JIT) will continue with stale values.
Fix this by calling into the handler rather than exiting through VM.
