Because GtkCTree _was_ implemented in PHP-GTK 1, and GtkCTreeNode's methods were not. Why add functionality to a deprecated class?

Well, if you aren't going to implement the GtkCTreeNode methods because the thing's deprecated, why bother implementing GtkCTree at all? - that argument doesn't make a lot of sense to me - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrei Zmievski" <andrei@gravitonic.com> To: "Steph Fox" <steph@zend.com> Cc: "Christian Weiske" <cweiske@cweiske.de>; "PHP-GTK dev" <php-gtk-dev@lists.php.net> Sent: Wednesday, February 08, 2006 5:51 AM Subject: Re: [PHP-GTK-DEV] GtkCTreeNode boxed or not?Regarding GtkCTreeNode: since it's deprecated, why do we want it to have all these methods? If GtkCTreeNode is defined as boxed most of the missing methods generate perfectly, so the problem isn't the out-commented line dating back to the days when boxed 'objects' were treated as unique types. The problem is that a) GtkCTreeNode is currently defined as a pointer, and b) the generator script for it hasn't been written yet. My questions to Andrei are: a) why? b) assuming the current definition stands, when can we expect to see the generator written for it? c) is the generator code going to be generic? - Steph ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steph Fox" <steph@zend.com> To: "Christian Weiske" <cweiske@cweiske.de> Cc: "PHP-GTK Dev list" <php-gtk-dev@lists.php.net> Sent: Monday, January 23, 2006 1:40 PM Subject: Re: [PHP-GTK-DEV] GtkCTreeNode boxed or not?__________ NOD32 1.1380 (20060125) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.comThat's absolutely not why :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Christian Weiske" <cweiske@cweiske.de> To: "Steph Fox" <steph@zend.com> Cc: "PHP-GTK Dev list" <php-gtk-dev@lists.php.net> Sent: Monday, January 23, 2006 1:34 PM Subject: Re: [PHP-GTK-DEV] GtkCTreeNode boxed or not?-- PHP-GTK Development Mailing List (http://gtk.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.phpSteph,-- PHP-GTK Development Mailing List (http://gtk.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php __________ NOD32 1.1373 (20060120) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.comThank you for confirming that it doesn't work under *nix either :)I can't work because the methods aren't generated because the relevant line in arg_types.php is commented out.
