Thank you for the reply. I really don't know. PHP installation is by RedHat RPM's. Is there an easy way to determine this. Sorry for the questions, but this development arena is new to me.There are a few ways to check if GD is available. First you can try running $> php -m This lists the modules/extensions that are loaded. If you see gd in the list then you have it. You can also see what PHP was configured with by checking the php info. Try running $> php -i | grep config If you see --with-gd in there then gd was enabled. If you don't see it in either of those places then you may have to recompile PHP. Its probably best to wait for a more authoritative answer/solution first though. Compilation errors are not my strong point.
By the way, I will be sure to pick up your new book when it comes out. Thanks, -- Scott Mattocks Author of the soon to be published: Pro PHP-GTK http://www.crisscott.com
