Bad scintilla default size

Look at this example:
<?php
$window = new GtkWindow();
$vbox = new GtkVBox();
$window->add($vbox);
$label = new GtkLabel("Test");
$vbox->pack_start($label, true, true);
$sc = new GtkScintilla();
$sc->set_size_request(100, 100);
$vbox->pack_start($sc);
$window->show_all();
Gtk::main();
?>
This works perfect. But if I comment the line
$sc->set_size_request(100, 100);
The window now is bigger than the screen by a few points, so the botton of the
window is off screen. I tested with many resolutions and there is the same
error. If I run it and after change the resolution, it appears all in the
screen.
If this matter: kde 3.5.3
