Hi all,
Now that the dust has settled a bit; here's a brief summary of what lies
ahead (roughly in order of priority)
* API/Doc Completion for Gtk+ 2.6
* Add support for Gtk+ 2.8 and 2.10
* Make PHP-GTK compile cleanly on MSVC 2005
* Create installer for Windows (and Mac? :))
* Decide on which Scintilla version to bundle
* Add a few more extensions and override as necessary (My next target is
GtkHTML)
I'll commit in GtkExtra and GtkSpell to CVS shortly. Elizabeth, you can
commit the GtkPlug override from the edge repository as discussed
earlier (Andrei: this is the corrected version!). I'll also be posting
consolidated patches of Elizabeth's earlier work on 2.8/2.10 along with
build support for *nix; so that we can discuss that and take it further.
We should be ready for a beta release in about a month; I think we
should make that release once (if) we have Gtk+ 2.8/2.10 in CVS and the
API coverage is hovering around the 90% mark. After that we can make the
full release with 100% (or close to) 2.6 coverage; part-coverage of
2.8/2.10, extensions and documentation. Subsequent releases can improve
on those aspects.
I'll pull down the edge repository as soon as we're decided on whether
2.8/2.10 will be going in CVS; there are still people checking out from
there and I think it is only fair to let them try 2.8/2.10 in the interim.
About the Mac installer; I have only been toying around with that idea;
so if there's anyone lurking out there who'd be knowledgeable/interested
about the task, I'd appreciate the help :) A php-gtk Portfile for
Macports is on the cards too.
Best Regards,
